Went up to the Stewart Farm yesterday.  I got to feed the calves, do some landscape work and see Abby and Mattie.  Grandmother helped Abby get ready for the Blount County Young Farmers Christmas Party that was at Abby and Jay's house last night.  We had fun visiting but we were tired when we got back home.  KK and Pawpaw Billly went with us.

Helping PawPaw

Pawpaw is telling his story.  He called me at work to go to his house and get his 4Wheeler and come to where he was hunting.  That was all he said but he didn't have to say more.  Lisa went with me and as we left from getting the 4Wheeler we saw my Granddaddy "BigDaddy" sitting out in the sun at his house so I stopped and asked him to go with us.  When we got there I went and helped him get the deer and we loaded it up and he road out.  It was a nice one that the rack nearly touched at the top.  It had been working the trees.  (More pictures under Hunting Tab)
Made pictures here today of my granddad and last Saturday made pictures of my grandson in this same spot.  Now is that not a BLESSING!

Christmas Tree 2010

We went into Dewberry Lands to find a Christmas Tree.  James and Selah had a great time looking for "The Great Christmas Tree" for Grandmother and Granddaddy.  James assisted with the cutting of the tree.  There are more pictures under the FAMILY TAB.

James looking for deer out of shooting house.

James with his hunting hat after we left shooting house in the background.

James and Nathan climbing up a steep bluff in the woods.

We caught a squirrel yesterday in our trap and today we had a racoon before we left to go hunting.  We ate breakfast at PawPaw's with Russell and PawPaw then went to the woods where we got in a shooting house(Spaceship) to hunt.  We then walked to cabin and back.  When Nathan came to jeep we then walked to deep hole where mining was done.  We then returned home and skinned the racoon for a coon skin cap.  James also caught two lizards out in the warm sun.  James had a big day.  No deer because it was just too hot outside.

James, Selah and I put a trap out Monday night and we caught a racoon.  It was James and Selah's first encounter with a racoon.  James was amazed at how mean it was.  He learned it was a wild animal and was amazed at how it would bit a stick when it was put in the trap.

Felicia and I were in Montgomery today for a State Tree Farm Committee meeting.  We were working on budgets and got to see a video of the State Tree Farm winner, at Enon Plantation.  Good to see all committee members and others at the Alabama Forestry Association office.

Great to have Nathan home!

It was good to have the little Berries on Dewberry Lands along with their dad.  He and I went through the property this weekend and he made some pictures.  Selah and James helped me cut some firewood one day and James helped me load it.  They had fun jumping and laying in the pine straw we raked. Selah was relaxing and James was slipping up on her.  GOD thank you for your blessings!
