We went into Dewberry Lands to find a Christmas Tree. James and Selah had a great time looking for "The Great Christmas Tree" for Grandmother and Granddaddy. James assisted with the cutting of the tree. There are more pictures under the FAMILY TAB.

James looking for deer out of shooting house.
James with his hunting hat after we left shooting house in the background.
James and Nathan climbing up a steep bluff in the woods.
We caught a squirrel yesterday in our trap and today we had a racoon before we left to go hunting. We ate breakfast at PawPaw's with Russell and PawPaw then went to the woods where we got in a shooting house(Spaceship) to hunt. We then walked to cabin and back. When Nathan came to jeep we then walked to deep hole where mining was done. We then returned home and skinned the racoon for a coon skin cap. James also caught two lizards out in the warm sun. James had a big day. No deer because it was just too hot outside.

Great to have Nathan home!
It was good to have the little Berries on Dewberry Lands along with their dad. He and I went through the property this weekend and he made some pictures. Selah and James helped me cut some firewood one day and James helped me load it. They had fun jumping and laying in the pine straw we raked. Selah was relaxing and James was slipping up on her. GOD thank you for your blessings!

On Saturday, the 30th of October, I decided to forget about housecleaning and enjoy some time in the forest with Lamar. I always enjoy our time spent in the woods, and Saturday was no exception. Everytime I get to be on our property it makes me so appreciative of God's blessings. Lamar has always told me that going hunting or being in the woods has always made him feel close to God. I understand that feeling because that is how I feel, too, when I let myself forget about my "to-do" list and just be quiet and meditate on the greatness of our amazing God! Psalm 136: 1-9 describes our God and I am so thankful He loves everyone with such an incredible and enduring love!
Mattie's First Trip to Dewberry Lands
Abby and Mattie at Grandmother's Park.
We love looking at the different colored leaves in the water. (Mattie would like to play in the water.)
She was so excited about her first trip to the Bowden Grove Tract.
She will have other time to play in the woods and when she gets a little older she can hike, hunt, play in the water, camp with Selah and James, and learn about plants and animals. GOD IS SO GOOD!
